NOVICE LEVEL
  
A TOTAL OF 10 TRICKS ARE REQUIRED TO
 EARN THE AKC NOVICE TRICK DOG TITLE
  1. Balance beam (walk on low board)
  2. Bark on cue (“Speak”)
  3. Crawl (dog on belly, crawls at least 5 feet)
  4. Fetch, bring, give object to handler & release)
  5. Find it (find treat hidden under cup)
  6. Get your ___________. (named object)
  7. Get in (gets in box)
  8. Get on (low platform or step - 4 paws)
  9. Hand signals (down, sit, or come) 
  10. High five
  11. Hold (3 seconds)
  12. Jump (thru a low hoop or over a low bar)
  13. Kennel up (go in crate, stay until released)
  14. Kiss (point to cheek)
  15. Paws up (2 front paws on low stool or step)
  16. Push-ups (sit, down, sit, down, sit, down)
  17. Shake hands
  18. Spin in circle
  19. Touch it (hand or target stick)
  20. Tunnel (agility tunnel or child’s tunnel)

THE AKC INTERMEDIATE TRICK DOG TITLE
  1. Balance treat on nose or head.
  2. Carry (a basket)
  3. Catch (soft toy, soft ball)
  4. Crawl (on belly at least 5 ft (w/food or toy )
  5. Fetch it (20 ft.)
  6. Game (manipulates interactive game.
  7. Go find (handler hides, dog goes and finds)
  8. Go to your place (bed/mat, crate from 10 ft.)
  9. 3 Hand signals (sit, down, come, stand)
  10. Jump through handler’s circle arms
  11. Leg weave (weave around handler’s legs)
  12. Paws up (on handler’s arm)
  13. Pull a toy on a string or rope
  14. Push a button to make a sound.
  15. Rollover
  16. Shell game (find treat under 1 of 3 cups)
  17. Sit pretty (sit up or sit w/ head tilted)
  18. Wave good-bye
  19. Weave poles (6 weave poles) (treats ok)

A TOTAL OF 5 TRICKS ARE REQUIRED TO
 EARN THE AKC NOVICE TRICK DOG TITLE
  
  1. Back up (walk backwards)
  2. Balance treat on nose, flip to eat on “OK”
  3. Barrel (roll with 2 paws, or stand on with 4)
  4. Bow (as in “Take a bow”)
  5. Circle right, circle left
  6. Cover your eyes
  7. Cover-up with blanket
  8. Go hide (get under table)
  9. Head down
  10. Hide your head (under blanket or front arm. 
  11. Jump over handler’s back
  12. Light (turn on pressure sensitive battery operated light)
  13. Open door of mailbox, toy 'frigerator, get object
  14. Play dead
  15. Scent articles (choose from 5 - dog can ‘read’)
  16. Sit or down at distance (15 ft.)
  17. Tissue out of box (and bring to handler)
  18. Toys (take to and drop in box)
  19. Weave poles (6 weave poles) (no treats)
  20. Other: Handler’s choice #1
  21. Other: Handler’s choice #2

ADVANCED LEVEL

THE AKC TRICK DOG PERFORMER  TITLE

A TOTAL OF 10 TRICKS from the Novice,
Intermediate and Advanced titles ARE REQUIRED

TO EARN THE TRICK DOG PERFORMER TITLE. (Must have all 3 titles on record). The dog/handler must perform a Tricks routine that includes at least 2 Intermediate Tricks and 2 Advanced Tricks.

The routine may have a story (e.g., “This is my dog Princess. Princess loves school-here’s what she
does at school. She plays ball on the play ground, and then she takes a nap,” etc.)

If your routine had a story, please tell the basic idea.

* If your routine has a story, you can tell the story yourself (see example of Princess above) or you can have a narrator read the story to give you cues about the next trick.

* No food lures (using food to guide the dog into position) may be used in the Performer title. Food and/or clickers may be used as reinforcers (after a correct behavior).

* TRICK DOG PERFORMER REQUIRES YOU TO PROVIDE A VIDEO FOR AKC TO VIEW. SUBMIT TO YOUTUBE, FACEBOOK, (or other).
